The Capitals struggled against the Jr. Stars 8-3 in home game

Kyle Konin came up big, stopping 18 of 26 shots throughout the game. The Mid Cities Jr. Stars took the lead early in the second on a goal from Trey Rooney.

Dillon Steh had a busy night with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Andrei Rusakov contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Jason Koehn did his part, adding 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Trey Rooney delivered for his team with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist).

In the first period, Koehn opened the scoring for the Jr. Stars with a goal at 1:04 with a helper from his teammate Speights. Rooney netted a goal at 4:14 with a helper from his linemate Sheridan. Rusakov finally put the Capitals on the board with a goal at 13:52 with an assist from Steh. Sheridan quickly followed with a goal at 14:45.

During the second period, Rooney scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 3:01. Sheridan deposited a goal at 11:31 with helpers from his linemates, Speights and Koehn. Steh answered for Atlanta with a goal at 14:48 with assists from Medure and Linde. Simpson quickly followed with a goal at 15:15 with a helper from Kesling.

In the third, Ladzinski answered for the Capitals with a goal at 1:27 with assists from Moore and Rusakov. Koehn answered for the Jr. Stars with a goal at 17:12 with a helper from his linemate Rooney. Kesling quickly followed with a goal at 18:10 with assists from his linemates, Taylor and Hutchinson.

This loss brings the Atlanta Capitals’ record to (0-1-0-0).
