The Capitals shutout the Spirit 6-0

Brody Nielsen and Vito Carlo had big nights with 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists) and 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) respectively as the Atlanta Capitals crushed the College Station Spirit 6-0 in a home game at Spirit Ice Arena in Atlanta. Also, Elijah Gibbons posted a shutout, stopping all 38 of College Station shots throughout the game. The Atlanta Capitals took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Brody Nielsen and never looked back.

Jason Ladzinski delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Cole Thomas Johnson did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first, Nielsen opened the scoring for the Capitals with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 8:01 with helpers from his linemates, Carlo and Johnson.

During the second, Johnson put in a goal at 2:43 with helpers from his linemates, Smith and Cornic. Ladzinski netted a goal at 7:48 with assists from his linemates, Nielsen and Carlo.

In the third, Carlo deposited a goal at 4:12 with assists from his linemates, Nielsen and Ladzinski. Nielsen put in a goal at 18:20 with helpers from teammates Moore and Carlo. Medure quickly followed with a goal at 18:58 with assists from Steh and Opie.

The Capitals’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Gibbons’ shutout, as he stopped all 38 of the shots he faced. Gibbons’ counterpart, O’toole, also had a big night, managing to stop 42 of 48, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Atlanta Capitals’ record to (13-5-1-1).
