SATURDAY NIGHT CAPSFEVER DOWN DUCKS

Atlanta relied on the scoring touch of Tre Opack, who netted two goals, to beat Point Mallard, 6-3.

Opack scored at 2:31 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Atlanta and again while on the power play 18:41 into the second to make the score 3-1 Atlanta.

Point Mallard's power play was ineffective against Atlanta's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Atlanta forced Point Mallard goalie Cooper Seedott to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. Atlanta outdid its season average for goals scored. Atlanta has scored at the pace of 3.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

Atlanta also got points from Kyle Rimbach, who also grabbed two goals and two assists to lead the team in points. Atlanta also had goals scored by Philip Pugliese and Alex Johanson, who each put in one. More assists for Atlanta came via Riley Hummitsch, who had one and Jack Cleaver and Artus Laukaitis, who contributed two each.  

"I thought we played well all weekend, it was nice to see our group be rewarded for the work they have put in thus far. We are just looking to build off this weekend and look forward. We are on to Dallas and a 4 game in 4 day road swing, so we need to be focused on the task at hand" said Head Coach Anthony Bohn.
