Medure's hat trick helped the Capitals crush the Jr. Thunderbolts 9-0

Talon Medure led the way with a hat trick as the Atlanta Capitals crushed the Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts 9-0 in a home game at Swonder Ice Arena in Atlanta. Moreover, Kyle Konin posted a shutout, stopping all 15 of Evansville shots throughout the game. The Atlanta Capitals took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Michael Klintworth and never looked back.

Michael Klintworth had a busy night with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Brody Nielsen chipped in with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists).

In the first period, Klintworth opened the scoring for the Capitals with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 5:31. Medure deposited a goal at 12:46 with helpers from Warner and Moore. Rusakov put in a goal at 19:24 with helpers from Nielsen and Carlo.

In the second period, Klintworth netted a goal at 2:29 with assists from teammates Medure and Linde. Ladzinski scored a goal at 16:34 with an assist from fellow Capitals forward Nielsen. Warner quickly followed with a goal at 18:21 with a helper from his linemate Medure. Nielsen quickly followed with a goal at 19:45 with an assist from Ladzinski.

During the third, Medure netted a goal at 4:10 with helpers from his linemates, Klintworth and Warner. Medure scored a goal at 8:14 with an assist from defenseman Lougheed.

Atlanta’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Konin’s shutout, as he stopped all 15 of the shots he faced. Konin’s counterpart, Tucker, also had a big night, managing to stop 33 of 42, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Atlanta Capitals’ record to (1-0-0-0).
