Late goal helps the Capitals defeat the Jr. Blues 5-4

Talon Medure scored the game winning goal late in the game as the Atlanta Capitals defeat the the St. Louis Jr. Blues 5-4 in a home game at Center Ice Arena in Atlanta. What's more, the Atlanta Capitals' offense had a big night, peppering St. Louis with 32 shots throughout the game.

Andrei Rusakov chipped in with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Tanner Opie delivered for his team with 2 assists. Cameron Mcatee did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Jake Cox contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first period, Carlo opened the scoring for Atlanta with a goal at 3:31 with helpers from teammates Rusakov and Ladzinski. Cox answered for St. Louis with a goal at 11:06 with helpers from Capkovic and Mcatee. Yurisich netted a goal at 15:50 with an assist from Monreal. Nielsen answered for Atlanta with a goal at 19:34 with a helper from Rusakov.

In the second period, Galaguzov answered for the Jr. Blues with a goal at 4:35 with an assist from defenseman Capkovic. Mcatee put in a goal at 8:45 with helpers from Capkovic and Cox. Rusakov answered for Atlanta with a goal at 15:39 with an assist from defenseman Sleeper.

During the third, Steh deposited a goal at 1:06 with helpers from Warner and Opie. Medure put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 19:11 with assists from Klintworth and Opie.

The Capitals’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Konin as he stopped 21 of the 25 shots he faced. Konin’s counterpart, Bjella, also had a big night, managing to stop 27 of 32, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Atlanta Capitals’ record to (29-13-2-1).
