Klintworth's hat trick helped the Capitals crush the Jr. Thunderbolts 6-2

Michael Klintworth led the way with a hat trick as the Atlanta Capitals crushed the Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts 6-2 in a home game at Swonder Ice Arena in Atlanta. Talon Medure also had a big night with 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists). In addition, the Atlanta Capitals' offense had a big night, peppering Evansville with 60 shots throughout the game. The Atlanta Capitals took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Michael Klintworth.

Cole Warner contributed with 3 assists and Tanner Opie chipped in with 2 assists.

In the first period, Cody opened the scoring for the Jr. Thunderbolts with a goal at 2:42 with helpers from his linemates, Alvegran and Heppner. Klintworth answered for Atlanta with a goal at 8:44 with a helper from Medure. Medure deposited a goal at 19:40 with assists from Opie and Carlo.

During the second, Scott answered for Evansville with a goal at 10:23. Klintworth answered for the Capitals with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 13:05 with assists from his linemates, Warner and Medure.

In the third, Smith put in a goal at 10:15 with helpers from his teammates Walker and Opie. Klintworth quickly followed with a goal at 10:28 with helpers from his linemates, Medure and Warner. Gustin scored a goal at 17:49 with assists from Warner and Carlo.

Atlanta’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Konin as he stopped 13 of the 15 shots he faced. Konin’s counterpart, Tucker, also had a big night, managing to stop 54 of 60, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Atlanta Capitals’ record to (27-12-2-1).
