CAPS SCORE 8 TO STREAK TO 8th STRAIGHT

Atlanta jumped out to a four-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat Louisiana, 8-1.

Atlanta was led by Alex Johanson, who tallied one goal and one assist. Johanson scored 12:20 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Atlanta.Artus Laukaitis picked up the assist.

Atlanta kept Louisiana's goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Domas made 52 saves on 60 shots. Atlanta outdid its season average for goals scored. Atlanta averages 5.5 goals per game. Atlanta had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on nine chances.

Atlanta additionally got points from Laukaitis, who also had two goals and one assist and Frank Trazzera, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Atlanta also had goals scored by Evan Camba, who had two and Drake Cartwright and Jesse Brown, who scored one goal each. More assists for Atlanta came via Aleksi HoivalaAndrew CooleyBear Ross, and Steve MacIver, who contributed one each and Kyle Rimbach and Philip Pugliese, who each chipped in two.

Louisiana was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 22 penalty minutes.

Parks Ownesby rejected 15 shots on goal for Atlanta. Louisiana registered one goal on eight power play opportunities.
